How was your party!

You have possibly never booked professional entertainment before so where do you start?

This page will give you a few pointers to help you choose a professional DJ.

In a recent survey the thing people remembered most about wedding receptions was the music and the quality of the DJ.

How many times have you heard horror stories about bad DJs ruining functions?

Remember one person holds the key to a successful Party, the DJ can make or break your special day so choose carefully.

Ask for references, if possible take the time to go and see the DJ at work, ask about the equipment he will use (there is so much cheap and nasty equipment being used).

Make sure your DJ supplies a contract or how can you be sure he will turn up!

Be sure he has public liability insurance and a current P.A.T test certificate (in most cases the venue will ask you to make sure these are in place and may hold you responsible for checking).

When you book your wedding venue, the cars, the flowers, etc someone will spend time talking to you about them helping you choose.

Expect the same sort of service from your DJ.

I know from experience the first question we get asked as professional DJs is

HOW MUCH does it cost?

But the more important questions are rarely asked so here is a few pointers for you.

1 Check that he is available for your date

2 Ask how experienced he or she is

3 Ask if he holds current public liability insurance and P.A.T test certificates

4 Ask if it would be possible to meet your DJ at a function or wedding fair (that way you get to see the person you are dealing with and the equipment)

5 Ask for a price (you can tell if the DJ is professional or someone who does this for pocket money at this point). Equate the price to everything else remembering quality costs a bit more than a “Human juke box”!

6 Ask what back-up he has in case of equipment breakdown or illness.

7 Ask other wedding suppliers for a recommendation they usually see who the best DJs are.

This is your big day and it could be ruined!!

I have heard the stories so many times!
